On September 6th, my friend Ali and I headed over to the Spoke Club in Toronto to attend an evening of Tuscan delight:
Tiziana Frescobaldi was unveiling their 2014 limited-edition wine, Montesodi  2011 Vendemmia Dedicata!
We walked up the stairs to the third floor and reached the Gallery, a stunning intimate room where we were enchanted by a lovely selection of wine and food. Along with the Montesodi, we tasted the 2012 Mormoreto, the 2011 LaMaione and the 2011 CastelGiocondo. My reviews can be found here www.thesingingsommelier.com/winenotes/category/frescobaldi

The Frescobaldi family has long been a supporter of the arts as both patrons and collectors. Tiziana created Artisti per Frescobaldi, a prize for new generations of artists who mainly use photography and video installations as their medium of expression. Along with historian and art critic Ludovico Pratesi, each year, they select 3 artists from around the world who will compete for the prize.
The artists selected for the 2014 edition are Jorinde Voigt, Michael Sailstorfer and Yuri Ancarani. Each were asked to interpret the Tenuta del Castello di Nipozzano, a century-old fortress in defence of Florence since the year 1000 that has belonged to the Frescobaldi family since 1877.
Their work was judged by major museum directors and was then transformed into three wine labels for a special selection of their Castellano di Nipozzano Montesodi 2011.

The unique wine is bottled into 999 Magnums and numbered 1-333 for each artist.  The elegant bottles were  designed to model a late Renaissance style and are exclusively selected for Artsiti per Frescobaldi editions. The three assorted Magnums come in a beautiful oak case and are only available by private orders from Les Vins Dandurand (info@pdandurand.com).
